Botting with an Aion Bot – My Story

April 16th, 2010 Jonathan No comments

Hey, I’m Jonathan. This is my story of how a mmo gamer started using a bot in Aion for the first time and never looked back. If you want to learn more about me and why I started botting in aion, click about me.

Click here to see the Aion bot I finally found.

Anyway, the short version is that I was super excited about Aion. When it released and I got to finally play it for myself I quickly got tired of the grind past level 20 and couldn’t stand farming monsters just to fill up an EXP bar

So I started researching bots, which I’d heard a lot about. These are programs that play your character for you and grind out EXP or harvest resources. I’d heard most of these programs would insta-ban you account. That wasn’t true, some of the better known private bots are quite safe, and many people successfully powerlevel from 1-50 with them. So after deciding to purchase one, I was prepared to see my money go down the drain.

I was incredibly surprised when I setup my bot, created a leveling profile, and proceeded to gain 3 levels overnight, in my sleep. This process repeated for the next few days, and every morning I woke up to more levels and an inventory full of kinah and loot.

The bot I found is absolutely insane. It’s super simple, just configure a few options and setup your class and you’re good to go. It has some killer features like background mode, which lets you let your bot run with aion in the background while you browse the web, watch a movie, or even play another game. The bot can fight, heal, rest, use potions or mana recovery skills. It can grind mobs or harvest resources to boost your tradeskills. It even has a crazy feature that detects when an invisible GM is around and instantly logs you out.

In the end I was very impressed. I thought I was done with aion before I tried this, and I bet there are lots of others that quit because of the grind that would still be playing if they had this. If you’re interested in a bot I definitely advise you check these guys out.

I hope you found this useful, if you want to check out the bot I’m talking about, click here.

How to do Botting in Aion

Botting in Aion is perhaps simpler then you would think. When a lot of people think about bots they think of incredibly complex programs that make decisions based on conditions. They’d be right. But most of these bots now have very simple UI that allow anyone to setup their character botting from level 1-50.

So how do you start?

First you need a bot. You’ll see in my first post I talk about the bot I personally use and have used to level two characters from levels 1-50, a Sorcerer and a Gladiator. So you’ll need a bot. The best bots are paid, which means you get the best security and updates whenever Aion updates. If you skimp on paying for a bot you’d better be prepared to pay the $50 for a new Aion account.

Once you have a bot you’ll need to set it up. Bots will work with any Aion class, and will grind mobs for you, and some (like the one I recommend) will also harvest resources to speed up leveling professions or raising your extraction skill.

For each bot there will generally be a setup guide, and this usually only involves you inputting some values and ticking some checkboxes on the bot UI.

Finally, when you want to start grinding or harvesting you’ll need a profile. Bots use waypoints to navigate around in a zone and repeatedly follow this path. It should preferably be large and stay away from objects so you don’t look like a bot or get stuck. You’ll record the waypoints with the bot and finally start your bot. The private bot I recommend also has a forum for sharing waypoints so you can share your own paths or download ones others have made.

And that’s all there is to it. Buy a bot, configure it, create your path files, and hit start. It’s really not very hard, and pretty soon you’ll become a master at creating paths that earn you tons of EXP and loot.

The safety of using an Aion Bot

April 14th, 2010 Jonathan No comments

When most people hear of using an aion bot, they immediately think of being banned and losing their hard earned account. I did my own research, and have botted myself, and I know this is not the case.

Botting is really quite safe assuming you take the time to properly setup your bot, learn how to create waypoint paths, and use a half decent bot that doesn’t act like a blind man overdosing on pain meds. It’s in NCSoft’s best interest to convince players that botting will get your account banned, and most “anti-botters” will be happy to spread that message.

What you should know is there is a big difference in bots. There are good bots and bad bots. Most of the bad bots are made by teams in China that pump out bots for popular MMORPGs in their market. These are the bots that originally existed for the Chinese version of Aion before it was released in the western market. These bots are incredibly risky to use and use packet sending which sends data straight to the game server. When packets are incorrect your account can be flagged for botting and investigated.

The generally “good” bots are written by independent programmers using memory reading to get data from the game client. These bots do not send any data directly to the server, and since Aion has no client-side detection, it’s almost impossible that one of these bots would ever be detected directly (only through a player report).

You don’t have to go to the trouble of figuring out whether a bot uses packet sending or memory reading. I advise you check out the bot I recommend above. I’ve tested it and use it myself, and it’s never had a banwave or detection to date.
